Silk Painting for Schools

Silk Painting is an accessible and fun filled process.

During this carefully guided activity, your child will produce their very own vibrant painting on heavy weight habotai silk, using either their own drawings or stencils.

This silk painting session is designed to encourage active, hands-on learning and creative thinking.

Your child will learn how silk is ‘stretched’ for painting and how to apply gutta and silk dyes. They will be able to experiment with exciting texture effects and learn how to ‘set’ the dyes onto the silk.

At the end of the session your child will have produced a beautiful piece of their very own art on silk!
